My Baby Boy

August 16, 2010

How blessed am I?  Thank you to EVERYONE who has helped celebrate the birth of my new little man. I am one of the luckiest ladies to have so many people who love me and my sweet family.  I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends in my life who have carried me through this time in my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

A wonderful and long time client honored me with the privilege of capturing this collection of images of  her newborn son.  He’s just as tiny and perfect as can be, and is a wonderful match to his beautiful family (remember them here and here?)

I’m sure he’s already grown and looking less like a newborn these days.  Meet the teeny, tiny, handsome Mr. C!

To the L family- I am SO excited for you as you welcome this precious son into your family. It was so fun to do your newborn session in your home- thank you again for trusting me to capture these images!

So excited that Kimberly gave me permission to post these first pics of her brand new baby boy (the newest super baby model for Tilt Photography)!  He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and measured 20″ in length.  He was born Wednesday evening, and mom and baby are now catching some zzzzz’s at home.

Introducing . . .

[I love it when a newborn yawns and you can feel their tiny backs arch as their entire body seems to move with it!]

[Big brother and sister enjoying some sibling bonding time- H. has got the baby holding thing down, and W. was so careful to remove his shoes before sitting on the hospital bed to sit with the baby. So sweet!]

[Handsome baby D. has some serious skills holding up his little head. He was so sleepy then suddenly he woke up and I was able to capture a ton of images while he just gazed intently around the room while on his mama's shoulder. Check out those amazing eyes!]

[Smooch!]

So glad for the privilege of being able to capture these images at the hospital . . . it is always so amazing to be close to babies when they are so fresh and new.  Photographing new babies is undoubtedly one of the greatest privileges I enjoy as a photographer!!

Kimberly- you truly are a rock star and I am so glad you’re precious son is now here!  This kiddo is going to be so smothered with kisses and adored to pieces by everyone around him.  He’s already got me wrapped around his finger!

Kimberly-
I remember clearly the day (over eight years ago) when we were teaching junior high together and you told me you thought you might be pregnant. I was expecting my first baby at the time, and was so excited for the prospect of both of us becoming mothers that year. You “held down the fort” while ventured off to enjoy my maternity leave- you withstanding the demands of 200 of other peoples’ adolescent children every day while I had the privilege of snuggling with my sweet daughter at home.

Fast forward to today- I type while holding my squirmy one year old on my lap, my three year old is serenading me with the tune of “I’ve Been Workin’ on the Railroad” and my oldest two are in their bedroom patching up a squabble. Kids are ready for lunch, I’m ready for a nap, the dishes are ready to be washed. I’ll admit that though the daily challenges are at times reminiscent of the ol’ days of teaching junior high, I would never trade it for the world. This is life maternal.

For eight years I’ve had the privilege of witnessing your maternal side- watching you love, teach, nurture, play with and cherish your babies. I am in awe of your ability to care for them in such a loving, unselfish way. Your love, courage, passion and determination inspires me. I am so excited that you’ll be welcoming your new sweet baby into this world any day now! What a blessing it is to know how much trust God has placed in us as mothers!

Now I will finally have a chance to “hold down the fort” for you while you take some time for maternity leave. Thank you for all you do for me. Thank you for allowing me to capture you in your “maternal glory.”

Love,
Amy

I figure I ought to post a few pictures of Baby C. at 11 months before I go ahead with showing you her one year session! I love being this girl’s mama . . . I love her spunk and sass, her sweet babbling, her dimple, her soft wispy hair and gorgeous blue eyes. She is a perfect baby, and as a bonus she has finally stopped spitting up!! Her reflux lasted nearly a year, and it was quite a challenge for all of us. Both of us are finally smelling a little sweeter and a little less like “spit up.” C. took her first steps on Easter Sunday. Her Daddy said to her, “C., Lets go take your first steps.” He lowered her down onto the floor and she did just that. Step. Step. Step. No, the camera wasn’t quite ready. I didn’t know she’d really do it!

(Don’t forget to floss your hair and comb your teeth!)

Boys, you’re already heartbreakers with those big brown eyes and rosy cheeks! It has been amazing to watch you grow through your first year!

At your newborn session you were so itty bitty and sweet- I was so excited to photograph you just a couple of weeks before my baby was born!

For your blessing pictures- you were filling out and packing on the “chub.”

Six months and there you were, sitting up and discovering the world around you.

So here you are, celebrating one year and you are so handsome and delightful . . . and busy!  I’m so glad your mom and dad allowed me to photograph your amazing first year!
