What a privilege and an honor to photograph this precious newborn with her adoring parents! When I first met J & C I was beyond impressed. They were newly engaged and I was hired to be their engagement/ bridal and wedding photographer. First impression: they were happy. They were in love. They were very photogenic and didn’t mind kissing in a few pictures!
As time went on, I just couldn’t believe how lucky I was to associate with such wonderful, genuine people. The bonus was their entire extended family (weddings are like that) seemed to be of the same make and model. Purely incredible people.
The day of J & C’s bride + groom session came and the weather was freakishly and inconveniently awful. A yucky haze and wind storm came upon us and they were already decked out in gown & tux, ready for our outdoor session. I gave them the option to reschedule, but with a sparkle in their eyes and a smile on their faces they decided to face the storm . . . and we had an absolute BLAST (pun intended). That session forever changed me. I witnessed the incredible growth and strength that can only come through embracing unexpected challenges with a smile and a willingness to endure them. (*See above sliding header to view one of my favorites from our session!) That night I would have easily put a request into the weatherman for another storm like the one we were “blessed with.” Even the morning of their April wedding was strangely cold and gusty but they were as beautiful and radiant as ever.
In my observation, their adventures as newlyweds and this new journey as parents has certainly given this loving couple a few real storms to face. Both remarkably and amazingly, they ride on through them- smiles still shining. I am beyond humbled by their maturity and positivity, and their grace. Thank you J & C for giving me the opportunity to photograph you in all of your authenticity. (one of my favorite things in the world!) Enough with the words . . . time to show off their gorgeous daughter!!
