Time Not Wasted | Utah Baby Photographer

I have told many people that if you check out my blog, it will look like I died about six months ago. No posts, no updates, nada. If you’ve checked out the Tilt Photography facebook page, there’s a little more evidence of life. If you come to my home, you’ll find me very much alive (though sleep deprived). Life is good, and I am so thankful for the abundance of blessings that surround me.

Firstly, I am thankful for the addition of our sweet baby girl, born three months ago. I have tried to soak up every minute with her- not wishing for time to go by more quickly, even the sleepless nights are a blessing with her. She is our fourth girl and fifth child. We are completely enamored by her amazing presence. The other day I asked my hubby if he’d hold her so I could get up and do something, and he said, “won’t she be okay laying on a blanket?” I responded, “I don’t want to miss any time with her- as long as I cuddle her tight she won’t grow up too fast.” I suppose it is a good thing she continues growing, but I don’t want to waste a precious minute.

Her birth announcement featured our little mermaid in a beautiful watery scene, after all, she was born a swimmer. This time around we decided to have a home birth with a midwife and I was able to have the amazing, peaceful water birth I had hoped for. It was made even more precious with having my dear friend and amazing photographer Britt present to capture the experience through her lens. Without further ado, I introduce our little mermaid baby:

My older children have really embraced our baby doll. My four year old son said tonight while playing Lego Star Wars (on the Wii) with his Daddy, “I can be the girl (Princess Leia) because I like girl’s ’cause CJ’s a girl.” This boy is nearly five and is the best brother four sisters could have!

So- in the coming weeks you will hopefully see more life surfacing on the blog, as well as some exciting pretty features and beautiful faces who’ve been “underblogged.” I’ve enjoyed a very busy fall photographing some fabulous people- and I am now busy at work designing custom greeting cards and wall galleries in time for the holidays. Like I said, I don’t like to waste time. I honestly haven’t been bored since I was a teenager- when the creative juices get flowing I can hardly justify sleeping!

Wednesday we had a perfect little window of sunshine and warmth making for a lovely evening outdoor photo session. Never mind that we’ve had snow flakes falling a couple of times this week! Brandon’s senior session was a lot of fun and wow, he’s a natural model. His smile came easily and he has a great personality. Brandon, I have a feeling you’re going to go far with your charisma & talent– good luck!

Sweet Sixteen | Utah Teen Photographer

In celebration of Miss S’s sixteenth birthday, she and three wonderful friends came to the studio to dance, laugh, play dress-up and of course have some fun pictures captured of this great age! We had a great time and needless to say, these young ladies kept me on my toes! Happy bday and here’s to a wonderfully, sweet sixteen years!

Bright eyed and bushy tailed, this little beauty (who also happens to be my niece) indulged me in an amazing collection of bright and happy pictures at the studio. At five months she’s not quite sitting up on her own, but she was perfect on her tummy or nestled in a chair. Baby R (the youngest of 5 children) even gave us an impressive roll while on the studio floor. I could have kept shooting all day, as she is truly delightful. So glad to have this baby model in the family!

I can’t believe that my sweet baby boy is already six months old. I was just looking at him today and realized how lucky I was to be his mommy.

Then I had a quick rush of creativity, (which doesn’t happen that often lately) so I ran down to the studio and started snapping away. He only gave me about 10 minutes, but I will be forever grateful for the images I captured of his precious, darling, little face. I am truly blessed.
