Halloween Event

October 31, 2008

Happy Halloween! Thank you to all of our friends, family, and many new faces, who came out to our Grand Opening last Wednesday- it was such a success! The children’s costumes were all so precious, scary, and very creative- way to go moms! We enjoyed having you all out to our brand new studio and celebrating the festivities of Halloween. Hope to see you all again soon.

Halloween Event Wednesday!

October 28, 2008

Here’s an example of what we’re offering:

* $10 fee includes (1) high res. file sent to you via email + (1) 5×7 print of the same pose. You will also receive via email a bonus Halloween e-card with your photo (you may print or share via web). If you have more than one child you may have one photo taken together for one fee ($10) but separate poses of children individually are $10 each.

[I love how the horse appears to be "biting" her in the middle frame!] This type of collage requires three separate poses plus a $10 creation fee for the digital file.

We’ve been working so hard to get the studio ready for our big grand opening. We hope you’ll come and celebrate with us as we open our doors to the public! Tonight the last layers of paint went on (our arms are exhausted but our excitement is at an all time high!) Tomorrow the carpet in the studio area will be done, we’ll pull up the drop cloths, bring in the furniture and props and hang the first portrait in our gallery. Kimberly and I were joking today that this feels a bit like our “secret clubhouse” in an awesome photo studio kind of way. We have poured our passion, time, energy and $$ into it–our families and many neighbors have also put their shoulders to the wheel and we are SO APPRECIATIVE! It is surreal to be this close to our studio dream coming true. WA HOO!!

So please spread the word to your friends and family about our fun event- we hope to see you there!!

We’re located just a couple of minutes from the Costco in American Fork. map to studio here Watch for a 20′ tall godzilla inflatable next to the studio entrance! Trust me, you can’t miss it!!

This session was such an easy going, delightful hour of my life. I sometimes forget how much I enjoy shooting a family in the fall with the gorgeous leaves as the perfect backdrop. I love the warm colors and the overall peaceful feeling of these images. J. Family you were so great to work with, and I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I did taking them.

Hello neighbors- thanks for being such an easy and delightful family to photograph-
I hope you enjoyed your doughnuts after the shoot, they were well earned by little Miss E.  I really think that all the drama over the clothes was worth it- the all black shirts look fabulous. Everyone looks so great, and the girls photograph so well. Oh yeah, you looked great too M.-it must have been those smarties I was handing out. Ha Ha!

One of my most favorite locations and four cute kids to photograph made for an enjoyable session. I first met their mother at the Oh Sweet Sadie show. Jeanne is an amazing designer of bugs ‘n’ bees boutique clothing and I fell in love with her talent upon immediate inspection of her darling, fresh, imaginative clothes for children! She is working on creating some amazing custom pieces for the tilt studio– (think peasant style princess dresses! I can’t rave enough about her talent and I know her clothing will continue to be a huge hit! Onto our session . . .

[don't you just love her sassy pink boots?]

[the magic of childhood is that anything in the world could be on the other side of that door . . .]

Thanks J. for allowing me to be your photographer!  I can’t wait to post some images of my “in-house” models wearing the darling dresses you have made!

Finally I got to repay you M.- and capture all the personality of your sassy little family.  I loved the neutral color scheme of your outfits, the different layers on everyone, and the perfect location for your urban style. Your boys had so much fun attitude in these pictures that it made for some great shots.  I love our trade we’ve arranged, and hope that there are many more great photo shoots in the future.

It was the perfect weather and lighting for a fun, spontaneous, chasing a 3(ish) year old, kind of shoot.  I think C. knew we were at his mercy, but mom and dad made his game of chase fun and adventurous.  This was my second time photographing C and Co., only this time I wore my fastest running shoes and my fastest lens!!  (my trusty 70-200 f/2.8L).  We met up at Liberty Park in downtown SLC to capture these images:

[a perfectly choreographed flock of Canadian geese flew overhead so that I could get this shot . . .]

[alas, we wore the poor kid out. I am guessing he slept all the way home!!]
A big thanks to the G. family for allowing me to run along with you to capture these images. You’ve got such a sweet family and I think our team effort paid off! Enjoy~

. . . and three gorgeous daughters with boundless energy.  This would summarize this recent shoot.  It has been amazing to see these girls grow up over the past couple of years.  I first met them before the twins were born two years ago, and photographed them as tiny newborns.  Big sister L. is as darling as ever, and keeps her younger sisters together!  We had a bit of adventure with feeding the sheep, a sudden rain shower, a brief hideout beneath the thick brush, and reemergence to discover the joys of giant mushrooms as umbrellas.  Hope you enjoy!!

[then we broke out the surprise huge red and white lollipops for little more fun!]

Thanks D Fam for a fun & lively shoot!! I’ve got hand sanitizer in the camera bag now, just in case I come across any rabid kittens in the future. ;)

tilt halloween event

October 11, 2008

What a great find- I loved this location in downtown American Fork-almost as much as I love this entire family! The S.’s are also some of my favorite “family,” and I loved being able to capture this sweet time in their life. We always joke that one day K. and I will have the huge formal portrait over our fireplace with all of the children smiling perfect and posed just right…one day! Love Aunt Kimmy
