Lydia loves the water so I wanted to incorporate that into her session. From boating, to life guarding, this beautiful young lady is meant to be in the water!

Thanks again girl for an awesome senior session! Oh, and thanks E. and G. for being fabulous reflector girls- couldn’t have done it without you!  C. you rock too!

-Kimberly

I don’t believe in coincidence– I think things happen for a reason.  This session left me changed– changed for good.   It was a reminder for me to appreciate every day– a reminder of why I am a photographer–a reminder of the beauty of  human life and how much love there is in the world.

This beautiful woman was diagnosed with brain cancer in December 2008 and her wonderful friends came together for a photo session evening two weeks ago to document and celebrate their wonderful, deep and abiding friendship.  There was a lot of laughter, much reminiscing and I was thrilled to catch many images which show just that.  Thank you for the honor of being part of such a meaningful evening!

I was so excited for the opportunity to work with the G. family again to photograph the newest addition to their  family!  Their faces may be familiar to you if you have previously visited our website as they are pictured in our baby gallery with their first son.  We had an adventurous time in bringing big brother and baby brother together (in the same shot)! The G. fam wanted a more contemporary look for their portraits, so we mostly stuck with a monocromatic color scheme: gray background, white/ black shirts. The look is sleek and modern, yet timeless.  Enjoy the sneek peak!

E & K- I hope you love the images–you two have a beautiful family!

[The secret's out! One year olds don't always kiss baby brothers on cue, so we had to coax him a bit ;) ]

It was so fun to see how these sweet boys have grown since their newborn session!  C & T wanted to remember how handsome their sons were all dressed in white for their blessing day.  The boys are different enough in size that it is possible to tell them apart, though we’ll put that theory to the test with the following pictures.  Often times the babies have color-coded pacifiers/ blankets so in photos it is easier to distinguish which one is which . . . we didn’t stick with that.  We may wish we had!

C & T you have a darling family! Thanks for returning to Tilt for more pictures of your boys.  I look forward to their 6 month pictures!

[Grandma & Grandpa came along to help during the session- they sure had a magic touch with their grandbabies!]

Arizona family . . . Utah photographer . . . so we met in the middle (well, not quite the middle) in Manti, Utah for a fun summer evening family session.  There were many places to explore on the Manti, UT LDS Temple grounds  and the lighting was sublime!  These boys kept me on my toes!  I am thankful for the  opportunity I had to capture this family through my lens.

J & S- I hope you enjoy a glimpse of some of my favorites from our session!  Thanks again!

Yes- these are mine.  All four of them!  Sometimes it is hard to believe we are such a big crew- and yet, I have a hard time remembering life pre-parenthood.  I love these sweet kidlets, and I must say they are the BEST of sports for as much time as they get to spend at the studio, they don’t complain a whole lot.  They are so kind to give their mother a chance to photograph them once in a while! ;)

S. is my oldest.  She’s 7, she’s easy to giggle, quick to help out, likely to be sassy, an organizer of magic shows and parades, a project-doer, a great reader, and she loves being a photographer too!

A. is my 5 year old. She’s more soft spoken and feisty at the same time, she’s a great playmate for her siblings, she’s mostly gentle, she’s got a wonderful smile with a window in it! A. would choose to be a puppy if not a girl, and she’s ready to begin kindergarten next month!

Mr. M- he’s a crack up! He is obsessed with motorcycles and tractors- he cuddles his motorcycle toy as he falls to sleep each night! He is quick to give hugs and apologizes immediately after hurting his sisters, but moments later he denies having hurt them in the first place. He’s a sweetie, a cuddler, a gardener, an adventurer, and he’s 2 and a half. He is so darling with his baby sister.

Baby C- is 2 1/2 months, went from teeny tiny to chubby wubby in just a matter of a few weeks, is a spitter-upper, sweet smiling, tolerating of lots of handling by siblings, facing outward rather than inward, cuddlicious baby girl. We are smitten with her.

[You didn't think they'd hold up with out any emotional outbursts, did you? I couldn't resist this one, as M. did not want his sisters to touch the baby--he wanted to have her to himself!]

My goal with Debbie was to capture some playful, not too serious and authentic headshots for her website. Debbie is an amazing writer and has authored several young adult fiction stories that are filled with her quirky sense of humor and awesome storytelling abilities. Debbie also happens to be one of my beautiful sisters! (I can’t exactly take credit for that, but I will be proud to say it!) After a successful career as a marketing director for a national corporation she became a mother to four children and now has two additional teenagers in her care. “Writer By Night” or “Post Lunchtime” or “whenever she can squeeze a little time in” to write is how she gets it all done. This chica manages to fit a workout into 6 of 7 days a week. If she lived closer (she’s in Colorado) I’d have her be my personal trainer and help me get into shape!!

Deb- thanks for coming to the studio and putting up with my load of phony books and goofy jokes!! I can’t wait until you launch your website so I can actually direct people there!! You look MUY fabulosa! ENjoy~

The session that almost wasn’t.  The poppies were late to bloom on account of a cool spring.  The rain came and drizzled, stormed and confused us several times a day for a whole week.  The window was closing.  The poppies were nearing the end of their crimson show.  Our determination to finally make this session happen–rain or shine– came down to the very last possible day.  The morning I was leaving town for an extended family trip  the elements came together and we captured these images!  Poppies make me happy.  Add three darling little girls in white dresses to the mix along with one smiley, handsome baby boy and you’ve got the package deal.  You may recognize these familiar faces on the blog, as they have been returning clients for the past three years.  It has been amazing to watch this family grow!!

D. FAMILY- you were such troopers with the cold, drizzling rain and spontaneous nature of this session! I am so thankful for this little window we were given to capture your beautiful family once again.

I brought  my sweet baby C. into the studio a few days ago for some fun old-fashioned theme pictures.   I couldn’t resist posting this one . . . she looks so content with being displayed in a suitcase.  She is such a sweetheart to put up with a photographer mama.  My three older children are equally sweet, as they allowed me to photograph them as well.  This old suitcase held the journals of my maternal grandmother so it has special significance.  Throughout her life she faithfully wrote in her journals to record the most important things the same way  I use my camera to document my life’s treasures.

I love it when clients bring in special props that add to the sentimental value of the portraits we create.  Whether it be a handmade baby blanket from Grandma, a bracelet from a favorite aunt, Grandpa’s favorite books, etc. we make every effort to tell your story in a memorable way.

Happy two week anniversary to this lovely newlywed couple!

J & C, you chose the perfect day to get married, and though it was a bit on the warm side, it was truly a beautiful day! I had a wonderful time capturing you at the Temple and at your wedding luncheon. You make a perfect couple– I am excited to see what the future holds for you! Thanks again for allowing me to document your wedding day. Enjoy this sneak peak!!
