How it all began…

Our first photo together- 2002

Amy and I, Kimberly, met six years ago in 2002 when I was assigned to be her student teacher at Oak Canyon Junior High. Amy was eight months pregnant with her first little girl Sadie and she needed a permanent replacement for the rest of the school year.  My supervisor at BYU, LaVelle Moss, pulled some serious strings to match the pair of us together- oh how we will be forever indebted to her!  We then got to teach 7th through 9th grade art which translates in adolescent lingo as: “recess with paint!”

It was a such a pleasure to learn under Amy’s excellent example as an art teacher, and I wish it hadn’t ended so soon.  Unfortunately, both of our teaching careers ended that year when I too was expecting my first child Halle. The principal joked that something special was in the water in the art room that got all of his female teachers pregnant.

Now 6 years later, and 5kids under our belts- we are joining creative forces in opening Tilt Photography.  All I can say is it was just meant to be.  I am so excited for this journey together, and can’t wait to see our photography dreams come true.  Amy will you marry me??? Ha ha!

Join me in sharing our journey together as Tilt Photography is created . . .

My kids were so cute helping me clean up all the construction dust after we had the studio dry walled.

My daughter said that night that when she grows up she wants to be an artist and a cleaning lady! She must of found a new joy and great sense of accomplishment in vacuuming and sweeping…sweet!

My son was so darling when he put on fuzzy ear muffs so that the sound of the shop-vac wasn’t so loud. These are the moments I treasure.
