Class of 2011 | Utah Senior Photographer

March 26th, 2011

Wednesday we had a perfect little window of sunshine and warmth making for a lovely evening outdoor photo session. Never mind that we’ve had snow flakes falling a couple of times this week! Brandon’s senior session was a lot of fun and wow, he’s a natural model. His smile came easily and he has a […]

Three and six . . . what a great age, and what great fun we had at this family photo session!  C & L wanted their session to have an urban feel (different from the typical family portrait) with a candid, relaxed feel.  They are very adventurous family and love the outdoors, so this location was perfect for a family outing which also happened to be a photo shoot.  Any time children can forget we’re “doing a photo session” and they can truly enjoy the experience and be themselves is my idea of time well spent!  There are a bunch of  photos that I wanted to post, but I thought I’d narrow it down a bit.

Enjoy!  Now for getting some up on the wall . . . I challenge you to make a plan!  You’ll never regret having photos of your family on your walls, I promise. :)

New Year’s Eve Shoot | Utah Family Photographer

January 2nd, 2009

What a great way to wrap up 2008 photographing in the snow the “picture perfect” M. Family. I can honestly say this was one of my favorite family sessions of the year. This entire family is so photogenic, and the camera loved them ALL. At times I thought I was taking pictures of professional models […]

This entire family is so photogenic, and the camera loved them ALL. At times I thought I was taking pictures of professional models doing a cover shoot for a fashion magazine! I look forward to working with the M. Family ANYTIME- you are so easy to work with, and produce such great photographs. Thanks again for ending my year on such a good note!

This stunningly beautiful family with three daughters made for a really fun shoot and a really difficult time choosing my favorites. If I could post 30, I would, believe me. The urban location set the scene, and the family arrived with fun personalities, happy smiles and great wardrobe colors & textures. [R family- it was […]

Autumn Leaves Smiles | Utah Family Photographer

November 9th, 2008

In search of the perfect amount of fall color, I scoped out “leaf quality and saturation” around the valley for about an hour the day of this shoot. I knew the family was planning to wear red, so I really wanted reds & gold vibrant leaves as a background. Believe it or not, such leaves […]

I knew the family was planning to wear red, so I really wanted reds & gold vibrant leaves as a background. Believe it or not, such leaves were hard to come by!! Alas, I found the place up American Fork Canyon and we were able to use every bit of gorgeous light that evening for a fun family session. You may recognize this beautiful bunch from a newborn session (blogged on studiocharm) earlier this summer.

[ah . . . can you hear the laughter and the sound of crunching leaves? A heartfelt thanks to the B. family for allowing me to document your family in such a lovely place. I am grateful to know you.]

One of my FAVORITE family sessions of the year– the kind where the stars seem to line up in my favor, and the family was so fun and relaxed (kids were fed and well-rested), the mom had carefully planned out the clothing selections for just the right amount of matching (in other words, they didn’t look like quintuplets), the lighting was great, the weather was just right . . . and here they are:

[we ended the session with a little spontaneous game of hopscotch. The kids had never played, and I happened to have a lucky piece of sidewalk chalk in my camera bag “just in case.” It was a lot of fun!!]

You may recognize the two girls from this session as two of our fairies from our Storybook Canvases line. Here is a link to images of their custom artwork on our sister website:

Thanks L. family for once again choosing me to photograph your beautiful family- I am so glad to know you and to have had multiple opportunities to work with you over the years!!

November 2nd, 2008

Another gorgeous fall day with great weather, and a beautiful photogenic family. B. Family you looked fabulous- even with mom sick with bronchitis ( I wish I looked that great when I was under the weather!) Little E. was so sweet even when she was squirming, and running out of the shot. Luckily we had […]

B. Family you looked fabulous- even with mom sick with bronchitis ( I wish I looked that great when I was under the weather!) Little E. was so sweet even when she was squirming, and running out of the shot. Luckily we had “quackers” and some trusty candy. I still think we got some great shots, and I am so glad to have captured those precious candid moments on the railroad tracks…priceless.
